This is due in part to the easier access to learning through tools such as podcasts and wikis.
The use of podacsts and wikis by students is driven by student demand with factors such as: students needing to be employed longer hours to support their studies; an increase in participation of people from non-traditional backgrounds and regional students.
This type of elearning seems to support student learning and back up the traditional lecture and tutorial system at universities.

Great article you found Juliet. This just proves that elearning with wikis and podcasts are a great way to support student learning. It makes us think about all lifestyle factors, i.e. part time work, family issues, which as teachers we need to take into consideration, when providing students with homework and assignments. Therefore, providing students with these elearning programs may assist and support them.
